THE 2014 ERMES SAR ACQUISITION SEASON IS COMPLETED

The acquisition period of SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) images, scheduled by the ERMES project for 2014, is now terminated in the Italian and the Greek test sites.

The acquisition of SAR images (2014) is now completed on both the Italian (South of Pavia) and the Greek (South of Tessaloniki) test areas. Data from three different SAR sensors have been acquired, in different polarizations, angles of incidence and geometric resolutions. In the document attached to this ERMES news you can find two tables showing the schedule of SAR images acquired, together with the main data characteristics.

These SAR images will be used in the framework of ERMES to develop and test the processing chains for the creation of rice cultivation extent maps, as well as the multitemporal monitoring of phenological development.

The images below proveide an example of data acquired during 2014 on the ERMES Italian and Greek test sites in different days.
