(English) Deliverable 11.3 – Dissemination Plan and Reporting v1

The current document describes and summarizes the ERMES dissemination activities that have been carried out during the whole lifespan of the project. D11.3 is a living document that takes its origin and structure from D11.1 and D11.2 and updates the dissemination information. The strategy and plan of the Dissemination activities within ERMES were already described in details in previous Deliverables (D11.1 and D11.2), that this document refers to. This report provides a list of the main documents and activities produced within this task and their links, with some statistics for the evaluation of the Dissemination Plan.

This deliverable summarizes the activities conducted be the ERMES consortium to publicize ERMES services and products towards potential Extra European End-Users. These activities towards demonstrated the interest of organizations involved in rice monitoring activities in both South-East Asia and West Africa in primis for the regional rice monitoring products developed within ERMES.

(English) Deliverable 9.10 – Report of Extra European demonstration case

(English) Activities of Task 9.3 were focused on the demonstration of some of the ERMES Regional Rice Services on the Extra-European study areas located in the Senegal River Valley (SRV) and the Gambia in accordance to what specified within the Service Level Agreements stipulated with AfricaRice and IFAD end users. This deliverable summarizes the work conducted in 2016 within this context, with the objective of generating the following products of interest: 1. Rice/Land cover maps for the two study areas (§3); 2. Rice Phenological maps for the Senegal River Valley area, for the 2003-2015 period (§4); 3. NDVI and LAI maps for the 2003-2016 period ($5); 4. Meteorological maps for the 2003-2015 period ($5); Details on products’ generation and characteristics are provided in the document, as well as a brief summary on the received feedback and perceived successfulness of ERMES extra-European demonstration activities (§6).

This deliverable collects and describes the ERMES newsletters produced during the project’s lifespan with the aim to disseminate the main information on ERMES results and achievements to a wide audience.

(English) Deliverable 11.11 – Greek End-users open days report

The Greek Open day was held on 20 December 2016 in Thessaloniki. Aiming to the dissemination of the event a fruitful collaboration with the Central Macedonia Prefecture was established. Thus, after the project’s press release another one was officially released by the prefecture at a National level. The ERMES event was very successful since the audience included more than 80 participants, consisting of rice growers, agronomists, civil servants, traders, millers, cooperatives, journalists etc. The Greek Open Day was very successful indeed and served its purposes on the dissemination of the projects’ results among the Greek end-users and stakeholders, who were present at the event. Furthermore, due to the press attention, the ERMES project was also disseminated among the general population. Thus, besides the agro-sector, a part of the European taxpayers was informed regarding on how their tax money are invested from funding of European research projects.

(English) Deliverable 3.4 – ERMES services user satisfaction report v1

In the framework of the ERMES project, the interaction with User involves the evaluation of the “Satisfaction” of the activities, products and services provided during the project. Final assessment of the “User satisfaction” was achieved at the end of the second year of demonstration (2016). In detail, the activities focused on:
  • Continuous interaction with Users to describe products meaning and to support the exploitation of the products in their operation workflow,
  • Customization of the “Evaluation Form”, taking into account hint/comments given with the first year of demonstration (2015),
  • Collection of user feedback both in the form of questionnaires and as results from organized User days and bilateral meeting.
According to the DoW, the satisfaction factors coming from the End-user requirements (task 3.1) are expressed in terms of delivery timeliness, quality and service reliability. The possibility to include the service in the Users existing workflow and the Users’ willingness to spend money for ERMES services in the future were also evaluated. Important aspect related to user expectation vs perceived/existing barriers (technical and practical) were also assessed. In summary, the deliverable include: I) A description of the strategy adopted by the consortium to interact with Users in order to have their feedback on the second year demonstration (Section 1); II) An overall synthesis of the obtained feedback received by user useful to i) analyse the interest in the proposed services/product, ii) assess maturity of proposed services and iii) understand the value of project results also in the framework of business exploitation (Section 2); III) A detailed report of the evaluation activities conducted for the demonstration of ERMES product/services provided to European (Section 3) and West Africa users (Section 4). For each users it is provided: a) recap of User’s interest in ERMES services and a summary of the exploited products, b) a summary of the User evaluation form template and feedbacks given during bilateral meetings or open days, and c) a “l Lessons learnt” from two year of demonstration and future scenario.
