The Remote Sensing Unit of the University of Valencia is active in the development of advanced techniques for assimilation and processing of remotely sensed data, estimating core biophysical indicators and state variables (vegetation cover, LAI, FAPAR, C fluxes) at different scale levels from remotely sensed data. In last years it ttok part in several projects related with ERMES issues.
Responsibilities and Activities within ERMES
UVEG will leads the WP5 dedicated to operational GMES/COPERNICUS/LSA-SAF product evaluation and ERMES EO-product generation and will coordinate LAI validation/estimation from optical data. UVEG activities will also contribute to the definition of EO-data requirement, the integration of “ERMES data archives”, to LAI product characterization for model assimilation and to the dissemination via WEB services. Finally, UVEG will focus on the supervision of ES regional and local case study acquiring field measurement and Meteo data.
