ABOUT ERMES

PROJECT SUMMARY

ERMES Products

ERMES project will produce two main types of spatially distributed products dedicated to the rice sector:

1) ERMES products from EO and in-situ data processing

2) ERMES information from the integration of crop modeling and remote sensing products.

In this Figure you find a sketch of the data information flow in ERMES is shown. EO data are processed together with in field observation or measurements to produce ERMES Products. These maps are then used as input for crop modeling to generate ERMES information. The Figure shows a sketch of the data information flow in ERMES: EO data are processed together with in field observation to produce ERMES Products. The maps produced are then used as input for crop modeling to generate ERMES information.

ERMES products

These products are added value geo-information generated from the processing of EO data together with field observation. The generated maps are customized products (e.g LAI maps) to be used either for model feeding and/or forcing, or to provide useful information (e.g. sowing dates from phenological monitoring) to be analyzed by expert users for crop monitoring activities.

ERMES information

These products, are higher level geo-information generated by integration of ERMES products and crop modeling to provide End User information useful in the framework of their management work flow (e.g. risk alert maps to spread pesticide; yield patterns to plan fertilization).

These products will be distributed to Local and Regional users in the framework of two web-based services: Local Rice Service and Regional Rice Service.
