Deliverable 5.3 : ERMES data and products catalogue v2

This deliverable summarizes the main ERMES data archive and catalogue datasets created during the second year of demonstration, in the form of simple listings (tables), briefly also describing some amendments that were deemed necessary. At the end of the 2016 season, the ERMES catalogue publishes a total of 320 data resources.

This deliverable describes the processing chains developed for the generation of the following ERMES products: EP_R4 – Near Real Time Meteorological Maps at regional scale EP_R4 – Forecast Meteorological Maps at regional scale. The document only provides basic indications related to the location and general characteristics of source code developed by IMAA-CNR for the generation of the NRT and Forecast Meteorological products. Additional information regarding theoretical background and workflow of the processing chain is reported in the related ERMES Deliverable 5.15: Report on Processing chain for "Meteorological Variables" v0 [R1].

The aim of this document is to describe the updates implemented on the procedures adopted to generate the following ERMES EP_R4 meteorological products: Meteorological Archive, Near Real Time Meteorological maps and Forecasted Meteorological maps, for the rice areas of study located in Italy, Spain and Greece. Different meteorological data sources have been used (ground data, re-analyses and forecasts) in order to provide data with a good accuracy and a high temporal and spatial resolution.

  • Rice Crop Extent, which is related to the production of regional rice area maps [EP_R1];
  • Constant Patterns, which is related to the production of local constant pattern maps [EP_L2];
  • Seasonal Patterns, which is related to the production of local seasonal pattern maps [EP_L3].
This document only provides basic indications related to location of source code developed for generation of the products or to the software framework in which the processing chain can be implemented. Additional information regarding theoretical background and workflow of the processing chain is reported in the related ERMES Deliverable D5.7.

DELIVERABLE 5.14 – Report on Processing chain for “Meteorological variables” v0

Task 5.4: Meteorological variables. The scope of the document is to describe the work done to collect meteorological data at regional and local scale. It identifies the characteristics of the input meteorological data which are required for the production of meteorological maps and draws the methods used for the production of the maps. Moreover, the document identifies and describes all the foreseen data sources and links these sources to the expected products. Finally, the first approach to the validation strategies necessary for thematic or numerical accuracy assessment of the expected products is outlined.
