ERMES meets China

On July 30th, 2015 ERMES project has been introduced to the National Engineering and Technology Center for Information Agriculture (NETCIA), Nanjing Agricultural University and the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI), Chinese Academy of Sciences during a meeting held in Milan at the premises of CNR-IREA.

The meeting has been organized during the participation of Dr. Tao Cheng and Dr. Xia Yao (NETCIA), Dr. Wenjiang Huang and Dr. Qiaoyun Xie (RADI) at the IGARSS 2015 conference. The aim of the meeting was to share research activities carried out at the institutes involved and to identify future collaborations on the common research fields.

The participants have presented their work on agriculture monitoring with remote sensing (satellite and aerial) and in situ data. The specific topics addressed during the meeting have been monitoring crop development at the regional scale, advanced techniques for precision agriculture, crop modeling, and techniques and instruments for field data collection.

The common activities among the institutes certainly constitute a good foundation for future collaborations, which have been outlined during the meeting.
