Task 8.2: Technological and scientific validation of Regional service inputs and outputs. This deliverable reports preliminary results of Task 8.3 “Validation of smart mobile and web services”, as part of the WP 8 (Scientific and technical validation of product and services). WP8 is composed of three main tasks. While the first two are centered on the validation of data products, either at regional or local scale, software products are the focus in T8.3. As the focus of validation differs greatly among T 8.1/8.2 and T8.3, the validation strategies and approaches taken will do so as well. The present document considers the term “validation” as used in system and software engineering and development, i.e., applied to software products.

Task 8.2 includes different validation activities conducted in each ERMES regional product and information service such as setting up of protocols for validation, in situ data collection, and evaluation metrics for products generated exploiting processing chains developed by the different groups.

Task 1.3: Quality Assurance and risk management. The first version of the QAP was redacted in the first months of the project as deliverable D1.4. This document briefly describes results of Quality Assurance procedures implementation during the first half of the project (§2.1), and some changes and additions in those procedures that were decided by the Management Board (§2.2). It also analyses the actions implemented to deal with occurrence of some of the risks identified in [R1] and specifies new risks identified after [R1] completion (§ 3).

Task 1.1: Project Management. This ERMES “Project Management Plan” defines and identifies the organization and the applicable procedures that will be followed to meet the ERMES project objectives, in accordance with the ERMES Grant Agreement and Contractual Agreement. The management plan was created at the beginning of the project as projects’ deliverable 1.1. This document describes some changes and additions in the plan that were decided by the Management Board during the first 18 months of the project.

The current document contains a list of actions that need to carry out in order to improve the deliverable 3.1 by reorganizing and extending the local case study for each of the three consortium countries. Further activities have been carried out towards the identification and collection of the user requirements for the development of the service and products of the ERMES project. Furthermore, it describes the local studies of two West African countries, which were identified as potential candidates to deploy the ERMES service in order to be tested in countries and cases outside Europe.

Task 1.4: Kick off and review meetings. This Deliverable contains the minutes of the first Periodic Review meeting of the ERMES (An Earth obseRvation Model based RicE information Service) project. The meeting was held on 23 September 2015 on the premises of CNR-IREA in Milano. The meeting was dedicated to the description of technical and management activities conducted in the first 18 months of the ERMES project. It was attended by representatives of all ERMES Partners, and by the projects’ Project Officer and external reviewer.

Task 11.4: Gender issues actions. This document is aimed at revise and update the state of promoting and monitoring activities, within the framework of the ERMES project, as related to equality between women and men. In particular regarding the actions implemented within the consortium throughout the project life-time for: i) promoting actions to reconcile work and private life; ii) raising awareness about gender issues. The two issues of the ERMES Gender Action Plan (GAP), constitute project deliverables (D11.14, D11.15) and commitments contained are binding for all project partners.

Task 10.1: Market analysis

Task 11.1 Dissemination of Ermes results. The current document describes and associates the ERMES dissemination activities to be disseminated to the targeted audiences and dissemination means. It provides an overview of all identified events and documents that were found suited for presenting the project and its goals, and reports the dissemination activities that have already been performed. Dissemination Plan is a living document that takes its origin and structure from D11.1 and updates progressively the dissemination information. D11.2 provides an overall view of the dissemination tools (brochure, logo, web site) and activities (events and products) generated until July 2015.
